I fail to understand how not accepting Windows 7 or 8 keys throughout the Windows 10 installation prevents piracy. ConfigMgr 2012 Site Boundary Group Assigmentment

If you have a 2007 and 2012 SCCM site you cant use site assignment because the 2012 machines might try to assign themselves to the 2007 site.  It can be confusing enough to have both infrastructures.  Or maybe you didnt set it before for some reason.  If you have too many to do by hand then here is a script you can modify to use in your enviroment. 

Recall that you cannot assign a boundary group to a Secondary Site code, it must be assigned to the Primary.  Yes, I realize it is in the drop down list because it is a site but you should always assign the site to the Primary just like the client would see in the Site settings.

We have our Boundary Group labled as such:


Location - SiteCode
London1 - SC2
London2 - SC2
Scotland - SC3
Texas - SC1
Washington - SC4

The reason for this is to quickly determine where a bound group is connected in terms of the secondary controlling it.  For this reason we need to look at the Secondary site code and associate it with the Primary.

Cassilis Branch Terminus Update

I have been slowly moving along with adding more scenery to my Cassilis station in between those other life matters.

Here are a few photographs to show what I have been doing. The backscene has been removed to assist with access, so the views down the yard showing other parts of the layout will not be part of the final scene. The backscene is normally at the rear of the loading bank and the view from the operating position/aisle is of the rear of the station building and the rail side of the loading bank.

The edge of the ballast has been removed to allow the placement of the loading bank.

Since the ballast was held in place with Long Life Floor Polish (see the last post for an explanation) it was relatively easy to remove the ballast along the edge of the goods siding to give the appropriate clearance from the rail for the loading bank. The Long Life acrylic clear doesnt set the ballast as hard as diluted PVA does which allows it to be removed easily.

I topped the expanded polystyrene backfill of the loading bank with plaster; while it was wet I drifted on a thin layer of brown tile grout and then over sprayed it lightly with methylated spirits to break the surface tension for the following spray of water. As usual with thick plaster it has cracked in a couple of places due to shrinkage and this will have to be corrected. I intend to run a bit of PVA into the cracks then apply some more tile grout and follow up with a spray of methylated spirits and then water to set the grout. Note that the tile grout would likely have Portland cement in it so if applied in depth it could be hard to remove later if required.

The soil bank at the back of the platform was also done with the tile grout over expanded polystyrene and the platform top was done with some Chucks Ballast fine rhyolite material. The plastic top of the Rail Central platform was coated with full strength PVA to assist with bonding of the fine rhyolite.

VoiceView Express Authentication Error

If you try to setup VoiceView Express for a CUE + UCM integration, and get the error:

Playback failed
Authentication error.  Report this error to your system administrator.

when you try to playback a message on Voiceview express, very likely you dont have the JTAPI user associated with the phone that use this service.  Make sure the JTAPI user is associated to the phones that are configured to use VoiceView Express.

Senone Tree Implementation For Sphinx4

I spent last month working on senone tree linguist for sphinx4 as a part of Nexiwaves sphinx4 performance project. Well, mostly I was fixing bugs in my initial implementation. The core idea of senone tree which was suggested to me by Bhiksha is the following. Lextree is a representation of all possible words in a dictionary which is built with triphones. Lextree is used to explore search space during decoding. There very good thing is that since number of HMMs is rather small comparing to the number of triphones (40000 vs 100000) the lextree is rather compact representation of the search space.





Senone tree takes advantage of the internal representation of each triphone. Indeed the triphone is built from 3 senones and number of senones is even smaller. Its just 10000 for a big model. And respectively we can transform our graph to way more compact structure. There are also some techical advantages of our senone tree implementation - efficient hash map that doesnt waste memory, simple search space structure since we dont use helper states like LexTreeEndUnitState for word end nodes and LexTreeNonEmittingHMMState for non-emitting states. Simple code is also an advantage.



Expermients also show that senone tree provides nice results. Its a little bit more accurate (few insignificant percents) and it is significantly faster (2x times faster in growth, 20% faster overall, 20k active tokens vs 40k before). Thats a nice improvement for Nexiwave engine.

This work makes me think that we need to provide different answer on our core question: "How to improve the accuracy". Of course traditional ones like: optimize parameters and train better model, are still valid but they are secondary. Primary answer should be: implement proper features in engine and youll get the accuracy improvement you need.
